Hawaii Vacation Itinerary

Preview

Back in 2018 we vacationed to the Hawaiian islands for my parents anniversary. After staying five days in Oahu right outside of Waikiki beach we hopped on a 7 day cruise around the islands. Here are some of my favorite activities we did and tours i wouldnt miss out on.

Oahu

  1. Ko Olina Lagoon, off the beaten path this beach is surrounded by jetties making it the perfect place to swim with little to no waves.

  2. Waikiki Beach, a more popular and touristy beach area

  3. Secret Beach and Jurrasic valley tour, located on Kualoa ranch this was the perfect day of ATV riding and relaxing at a private beach. Kualoa provides all the necessary beach equipment from chairs and umbrellas to paddle boards and glass bottom boat rides included in the cost.

  4. Sharks Cove Beach, located closer to the North Shore this beach is a very popular snorkeling area with great veiws and deeper waters.

  5. Paradise Cove Lū’au, a ticket to this Lū’au included dinner, drinks, a show and activities like Lei making.

  6. Shark Cage diving on the north shore, many tour companies offer trips to go see the sharks and a chance to get in the floating cage to get up close and personal. This was an absolute bucket list tour and i highly recommend it.

  7. Pearl Harbor, This historical sight is also a must see when in Oahu. Just make sure you book your tickets in addvance!

Maui

  1. Kaanapali Beach and Black Rock, a very popular beach with natural lava formations known as Black rock is known for its snorkeling and cliff diving. on our trip we saw sea turtles and sting rays along with all the beautifuly colored fish

  2. Hula grill and barefoot bar, located right down the road from the Black Rock this restaurant has great food and drinks and you can eat at a table right on the beach

  3. Road to Hana, with many stops along the way road to Hana is an iconic tourist destination in Maui. click the button below to find the article about sights along the road

Kauai

  1. Wailua state park, we drove past this park to see the waterfall on our way to the tour in the morning. We didnt hike down, instead veiwing the waterfall from the top and parking at the veiwpoint. It was absolutely gorgeous and only took a bit of our time to stop and see this sight.

  2. Mountain Tubing, “Adventure in Hawaii” is the only company in Kauai that offers mountain tubing. Starting in Hanamaulu this adventure takes you through the backcountry floating through sugar plantations. All gear is provided but this activity does require reservations.

  3. Waimea Canyon, dubbed the Grand Canyon of Hawaii this state park is absolutely breathtaking. the veiws from the top are so great, as long as the weather is cooperating

  4. Ziplining in Koloa, we did an excursion that took us on 8 different ziplines on the south shore of Kauai including three of the longest on the islands. we got to fly hands free and even upside down, lunch was provided and at the end they took us to a swimming hole to cool down.

Kona, Island of Hawaii

  1. Captain Zodiac tour, this snorkeling tour takes a group of up to 16 travelers out on Kealakekua Bay to veiw some of the clearest water on the big island. passing by and stopping at sea caves, lava tubes and blowholes. we even got to see dolphins as they followed the boat to the Bay. 100% reccomend this tour as it was my favorite excursion the whole trip.
